Hon Okey Joe Urges Lagos State Govt To Repair Deplorable Roads In Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 2

The Member representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 at the National Assembly,Hon. Okey-Joe Onuakalusi MHR,has issued an urgent appeal to Engineer Tokunbo Ajanaku, General Manager of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC), to repair the severely damaged roads within the constituency.
In a letter dated July 21, 2025 and made available to investigator news, Hon. Okey-Joe Onuakalusi highlighted the appalling condition of Okota and Ejigbo roads, which have been causing immense hardship for residents.
He noted that these roads have been in a terrible state for a while, causing daily traffic congestion leading to commuting difficulties and man-hour losses, vehicle damage due to potholes and uneven surfaces, resulting in increased maintenance costs as the poor road conditions have created an environment conducive to accidents, crime and insecurity.
“I am writing to express my deep appreciation for your tireless efforts in improving Lagos State Road network infrastructure.”
“Your dedication to enhancing the lives of Lagosians through infrastructure development is commendable.”
“However, I would like to bring to your attention the deplorable condition of roads in my constituency, specifically Okota and Ejigbo roads in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State. These roads have been in a terrible state for a while” he said
The Lawmaker went further to expressed deep appreciation for Engineer Ajanaku’s efforts in improving Lagos State’s Road network but stressed the urgent need for intervention in Oshodi/Isolo constituency 2 roads.
Specific areas in need of repair include Okota Road, Ejigbo Road, Community Road Junction by Ago, Ilasa–Ishaga Road, Ajao estate roads, including Stella Sholanke, Akinola Sholanke, and Lateef Salami among others.
Hon. Okey-Joe Onuakalusi also called on Engineer Ajanaku to urgently include these roads in the LSPWC’s rehabilitation projects, promising that this would greatly alleviate the suffering of residents and improve the overall quality of life in the community.
“I believe that with your intervention, we can transform our community and make it a better place to live.” he submitted.
