The youths of Imo State have been urged by a philanthropist, Hon. Bekee Emmanuel to eschew violence and embrace productive activities that support good governance.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri Tuesday 6,May 2025,Emmanuel said, “The time has come for our youths to eschew act capable of projecting them in bad light. You have to take your destiny in your hands. Do not fall to the prey of being used as political touts and thugs”.
He called on the youths to be the politicians that determine the cause of governance.
“The only way youths can change the negative narrative tag on them is to shun political apathy and actively participate in the political decisions that affect them”.
The Ezinihitte Mbaise born youth advocate pointed out that come 2027, the youths will no longer seek to be empowered by politicians, they will play themselves into power and run the system that will favour them.
“The time to stop recycling of old politicians that churn out obsolete policies will come to an end in next election. Youths will take their rightful places in the political space and cause a paradigm shift”.
The Chief Executive Officer of Kwado-Anyi Foundation went further to call on the different political parties to allocate governorship, National Assembly and State Constituency tickets for the youths if they want to create impact come next political dispensation because according to him, the youths are coming. “Nothing can stop an idea whose time has come “.
“I call on the youths not to give up in the system. We are gradually getting to the eldorado of Youth take over of the system. Every errors of past leadership draw the Youths closer to power. We are one step to taking over the political space ”
