In Tarabu village, Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State, unidentified gunmen killed a 45-year-old man Gambo Alhassan Maigini and kidnapped an eight-year-old boy, Khalifa Alhaji T Daguri.
The gunmen broke into Daguro’s residence on Sunday at 11:30 a.m., abducting his 36-year-old wife and his eight-year-old kid, Kalifa, according to a family source.

According to him, the hoodlums in their midst exchanged fire with security personnel for at least 40 minutes before being outmanned.
The incident was confirmed by police spokeswoman ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam.
“Teams of policemen from Area Command Hadejia, Hadejia ‘A’ and ‘B’ Divisions were deployed to the area, and the hoodlums engaged them in a gun duel upon sighting them,” he said.
According to him, one Sadiya Alh T Mohd was rescued unharmed, while Kalifa was kidnapped.

Shiisu added that following the firefight, authorities were able to apprehend their driver, Malam Adamu of Lawandi Marma village.
According to him, the hoodlums also killed Gambo Alhassan Magini.

A Honda CRV with the licence plate PBT 900TB, as well as two GSM handsets belonging to the hoodlums, were also recovered, according to the police spokesman.
He claimed that all efforts were being made to apprehend the fleeing criminals and save the other victim.
