Grassroot sports:Lagos State Government Scours City to Uncover Hidden Grassroots Talents

In a bid to unearth and nurture grassroots sports talents, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon Adebanji Atewogboye SKIBANJ, has embarked on a comprehensive talents identification program across the state.
The initiative which is aimed at discovering and developing young athletes, has seen Hon Atewogboye and his team traverse the length and breadth of Lagos, scouring local communities, schools, and sports clubs for raw talents.
According to SKIBANJ as he is fondly called, “Our goal is to create a platform for young Lagosians to showcase their sporting prowess and provide them with the necessary support and resources to excel at the state, national, and international levels.”

“The talents identification program has already yielded impressive results, with several promising young athletes identified in various sports disciplines, including track and field, football, basketball, and tennis.”
“The Lagos State Government has pledged its full support for the program, committing resources to ensure the success of this grassroots sports development initiative.”he stated.
Hon Atewogboye went further to expressed optimism that this initiative would not only help to develop the state’s sports sector but also provide a positive outlet for youths, thereby fostering a sense of purpose and community engagement
It will be recalled that as the search for talents continues,the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor remains committed to leaving no stone unturned in his quest to empower the next generation of sports stars from Lagos State.
