Gov Sanwolu Appoints 13 New High Court Judges

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially sworn in thirteen newly High Court judges. The swearing-in ceremony took place today at the Banquet Hall, Lagos House in Ikeja.
Among the new judges are Hon. Justice Azeez, Fimisola Augusta, and Hon. Justice George, Alfred Akingbola, who bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their new roles. The roster also includes Hon. Justice Badejo-Okusanya, Yewande Jokotola, and Hon. Justice Shonubi, Adenike Kudirat, both noted for their legal acumen and commitment to justice.
The ceremony highlighted the commitment of the Lagos State government to strengthening the judiciary and ensuring swift and fair administration of justice. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the critical role these judges will play in upholding the rule of law and addressing the backlog of cases in the state’s legal system.
Other distinguished appointees include Hon. Justice Layinka, Oyeladun Amope, and Hon. Justice Sunmonu, Tunde Bashiru, whose appointments are seen as pivotal to enhancing judicial efficiency. Hon. Justice Adewale, Russell Musiliu, and Hon. Justice Ojuromi, Nalirat Oluwatosin Olayinka were also sworn in, recognized for their expertise and ethical standards.

Completing the list are Hon. Justice Balogun, Adegboyega Ganiu, Hon. Justice Anjorin-Ajose, Tanimola AbdulWaheed, Hon. Justice Alebiosu, Olawale Lawal, Hon. Justice Muyideen, Abdul-Raheem Tejumade, and Hon. Justice Pappointedopoola, Oluwatosin Ajose. Each brings a unique set of skills and experiences that are expected to contribute significantly to the Lagos judiciary.
