A gas explosion at a Liquefied Petroleum Gas refilling shop in Sheka quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area, Kano State, resulted in the injuries of at least 20 people.
After a cylinder exploded at around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, some shops were destroyed.

According to reports, the fire began when a fish vendor was frying fish near a gas station.
Saminu Yusuf, the Kano State Fire Service’s public relations officer, confirmed the incident when contacted.
The 20 people who were injured were rescued alive and taken to a hospital for treatment, according to him.
