The Chairman Council of Ndieze Lagos state and Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun/ljedeodo,Eze Ambassador Dr Chika.C. Nwokedi has joined well teeming Nigerians to congratulates AlG Yetunde Longe, the first female secretary who pulled out of the force on Tuesday,27, August,2024 after attaining the mandatory age of 60years and at the same time celebrated her 60years birthday at the police college,lkeja , Lagos

Eze Nwokedi stated this at the pull out parade ceremony of AlG Yetunde Longe, describing the celebrant as a woman of integrity and one who does not discriminate, stating that AlG longe would be remembered for her selfless service to humanity and the nation at large.

Eze Dr C.C Nwokedi who is the President of lgbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria went further to state that AlG longe was an epitome of hard work and her life is an indication that hard work and dedication pays.

“AlG longe is a good woman,l knew her when she was the Area commander in Area F and because she is good person,l had to cancel my engagement just to attend this epoch making event.

“The celebrant who is prominently known for her hospitality and service to humanity is a peace loving individual who is very supportive towards the development of the Nigeria Police Force,she is also known for her honesty and transparency in all her dealings,her simplicity life is worthy of emulation.

“Longe is a very blunt person as she does not cut corners, she does not hold anybody in mind. We are all proud of her and the Nigeria Police force is proud of her as the first female force secretary and her selfless service,she is this kind of person that treat every individual equally no matter their status,when she was in Panti and Zone 2, everyone loves her.l want to admonish Nigerians to emulate this good virtues of this woman who have contributed immensely for the development of our great Country Nigeria”.he stated

The philanthropist and community leader,Eze Nwokedi who was the only lgbo leader among other traditional rulers who where at the event used the occasion in his usual magnanimity shower the officers with various gifts items to appreciate them for their selfless service to the country, while calling on individuals to always appreciate the men and women of the police force.

He prayed that God will continue to protect and keep her and her family,as she will reap her the fruit of her labor.

Mrs Yetunde Longe, Nigeria Police Force’s first female secretary, pulled out of the force on Tuesday after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.

Investigator news reports that the pulling-out ceremony was held at the Police College, Ikeja, and was graced by police officers, family members, and friends of Longe, who retired as an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of South-West, Mr. Abiodun Alabi, was among the senior officers present at the ceremony.

Reflecting on her journey in the force, Longe said she felt fulfilled serving in the NPF.

“As I retire from the Nigeria Police Force, after reaching the mandatory age of 60 years, I am filled with a sense of pride, of compliment, and fulfilment,” she said.

Longe described her career as an incredible, fulfilling journey, dotted with formidable challenges.She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve alongside dedicated officers, committed to upholding the law and protecting communities across the country.

Longe also thanked her colleagues, superiors, family, and friends for their support throughout her career, saying she would uphold the principles of service, integrity, and excellence in her future endeavours.

“As I embark on a new chapter in my life, I do so with a sense of optimism, excitement, and readiness for whatever challenges and opportunities lie ahead,” she said.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Olukayode Egbetokun, who was represented by DIG Alabi, praised the professionalism of Longe while in service, urging police officers to emulate her exemplary service.

Egbetekun praised Longe’s bravery, commitment, and integrity, pointing out that her career was marked by countless acts of humility and compassion.

“We continue to draw from your inspiration; we continue to draw from your wealth of experience that you have shown in the course of your career.

“Your career has been a remarkable one, marked with countless acts of humility, compassion and propriety.

“You have faced a lot of challenges in the domain of policing in the entire nation,” the I-G said.

Egbetekun further acknowledged Longe’s unique position as the only female to have served as the Force Secretary, saying her dedication to duty and exemplary achievements in the force were noteworthy

“You really impacted positively on the force. We are so proud of you,” Egbetokun submitted.
