The Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Dr. Seyi Jakande, honored his late father, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, with a Ramadan Lecture at his Ilupeju residence on Monday 23, February 2026.
The lecture, themed “My Ramadan: My Worship”, was delivered by Fadilat Imam Raji Alli of the Unified Local Government Muslim Staff Association.
He underscored that Ramadan transcends mere abstinence from food and drink, describing it as a divine prescription for spiritual purification, discipline, and closeness to Allah.
Fadilat Imam Raji Ali emphasized worship, charity, reflection, and righteous conduct as the true essence of the holy month.
In his remarks, Dr. Jakande urged attendees to embrace the lessons of Ramadan with sincerity and discipline.
He called for compassion, obedience to Allah, and a conscious effort to uphold the spiritual principles highlighted in the lecture, not only during Ramadan but as a way of life beyond it.
Investigator news reports that the gathering, steeped in reverence and tradition, was both a tribute to his father’s enduring legacy and a reaffirmation of Jakande’s commitment to faith and community values.
The event drew a diverse audience, including family members, councilors, Muslim staff of the LCDA, and community groups such as JAKO Babes and Angels. More than a religious gathering, the Annual Ramadan Lecture stood as a living testament to the late patriarch’s spiritual heritage and the Chairman’s determination to preserve it for future generations.
Late Alhaji Lateef Jakande was the first civilian governor of Lagos State.
