Disregard letter reinstating Okorocha’s ally, Nwafor – Imo APC

The All Progressives Congress, or APC, in Imo State has urged party members to ignore a fictitious letter that appeared online and purported to restore Dan Nwafor, a member of the political family of Senator Rochas Okorocha, as the state party chairman.

This was stated by the ruling APC in a press release that was signed by Cajethan Duke, the Imo State APC publicity secretary.

Dan Nwafor and his allies will remain where they are in the Imo APC’s history, according to the party.

The national Secretariat of our party did not release “such irksome falsehood and misleading publication,” the party claimed.

Recall how a letter from Sen. Lyiola Omisore, dated June 21, 2022, reinstating Okorocha ally Dan Nwafor under the title “Reinstatement of The Daniel Nwafor Led Executive,” sparked debate in the State.

“I write to convey the decision of the Party leadership to comply with the Supreme Court ruling on the case between APC vs. Evan Enwerem & 2 Others (SC/CV/884/2020), which ordered for the reinstatement of Daniel Nwafor-led Executives of the Party in imo State,” the letter’s opening line reads.

You are now required to take control of the Party Secretariat and lead all Party activities in the State as the Chairman until the end of your term on July 31, 2022, in accordance with this development.

Imo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Inspector General of Police, Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, and Commissioner of Police of Imo State all received copies of the letter.

The APC spokesman in Imo State responded, saying, “The said letter is not only fake and misleading, it is also a dramatised case of forgery masterminded by an unintelligent desperado.

It is crucial to emphasise that Dan Nwafor and his fellow travellers receive no recognition or legitimacy from the majority ruling issued by the Supreme Court on Friday, May 27, 2022, in the case between the APC and Evans Enwerem and two other parties (SC/CV/884/2020). The conclusion is still crystal clear and unambiguous.

“If it weren’t for the poorly thought out “oluwale” product that Senator Rochas Okorocha’s political family is known for, the national leadership of the party, specifically the NWC, could not have written a letter of this magnitude through an unidentified proxy.

For all authorised and official information and communications, our party has a designated channel.
