Delta Police Crack Down on Armed Robbers, Gun Runners, Recover Firearms and Ammunition.

The Delta State Police Command has announced the arrest of suspected armed robbers and gun runners, as well as the recovery of firearms and ammunition.

According to the Force Public Relation Officer, SP Bright Edafe,the arrests were made by operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) in two separate operations.

He stated that the command arrested three suspects, Koko Josh, Asomugha Clinton, and Anthony Kelvin, who are believed to be members of the Aiye confraternity

A search of their premises yielded a fabricated Baretta pistol, two locally made guns, and live cartridges.

“Acting on credible intelligence carried out on the activities of cultists around Mosogar and its environs, on 11/06/2025, at about 0345hrs, Operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team ( CP – SAT ) led by ASP Julius Robinson stormed the residence of one Koko Josh  aged 29 years, a native of Otor-Iyede Community in Isoko North LGA, Delta State, resident of Adams Street Area Mosoghar and one Asomugha Clinton.27 years, a native of Mbaisse Community in Ezinetthe LGA, Imo State.”

” During the preliminary investigation, a search warrant was executed in his premises during which a black bag containing a Fabricated Baretta Pistol loaded with two(2) rounds of live ammunition, two (2) locally made guns, eight rounds (8) of live cartridges were recovered also recovered are multiple phones laptop and some fetish substances.   Further investigation led to the arrest of Anthony Kelvin 26 yrs, a native of Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope East LGA, Delta State and Gift Amotsuka 25 yrs, a native of Jakpa Community in Warri North LGA, Delta State, both residents at Adam Street Mosoghar. They are all suspected to be members of the Aiye confraternity. Suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.” he stated

SP Edafe went further to state that the command also arrested two suspects, Ekene Chroma and Okafor Jonathan, who are suspected of being involved in the business of gun running. Two English single-barrel guns and 110 live cartridges were recovered from them.

“In another development, Operatives of the CP Special assignment team at about 1600hrs of 13/6/2025 embarked on a sting operation in a sting operation at  Okpanam Area of Asaba and effected the arrest of one Ekene Chroma,36yrs a native of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, and one  Okafor Jonathan 18yrs a native of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, both resident at Okpanam. ”

“Upon search, two(2) English Single Barrell and one hundred and ten ( 110) live cartridges were recovered. Preliminary investigations revealed that they were suspected of being involved in the business of gun running. Suspects and exhibits are in custody while the investigation is ongoing.”he submitted

The release went on to say that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, expressed his gratitude to members of the public who have been providing useful information to the police, enabling them to record these achievements.
