Covid-19: 54 New Cases Confirmed in China’s Mainland
The National Health Commission said on Wednesday that the Chinese mainland has reported 54 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 25 in Beijing, 14 in Inner Mongolia, 13 in Shanghai, and two in Liaoning.
Nine of the new domestically transmitted cases, eight in Inner Mongolia and one in Shanghai, were re-confirmed to be active cases from asymptomatic ones, according to the commission.
There haven’t been any new deaths reported.
Meanwhile, 47 COVID-19 patients have been released from hospital after recovering, including 31 local and 16 imported cases, while 6,807 close contacts have been relieved from mandatory medical surveillance. The number of severe cases has more than doubled in comparison to the previous day.
There were 18,953 imported cases in the Chinese mainland, but no fatalities.
