Controversy Trails APC Chairmanship Candidate In Oshodi-Isolo As Group Alleges Certificate Forgery

The Candidacy of Otunba Kehinde Oloyede, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for the upcoming chairmanship election in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, has come under serious scrutiny as a civic watchdog group demands his disqualification over alleged irregularities.
The Center for Policy and Good Governance and Electoral Integrity (CPGG)has raised an alarm during a media briefing in Lagos, accusing Oloyede of falsifying personal records, including his age and academic qualifications.
The group went further to alleges that the APC candidate committed perjury by submitting false information under oath, a development they describe as a “direct affront to the rule of law.”
According to CPGG, their findings suggest that Oloyede’s public documents do not align with credible background information obtained from both official and community sources.
The group pointed to inconsistencies in documents used by the candidate when he reportedly contested for a House of Representatives seat in 2003.
“This is not just a political issue, it is a legal and ethical one,” the group’s spokesperson said.
“We are calling on the APC to withdraw his candidacy immediately to prevent a breach of public trust and to maintain the credibility of our electoral process.”
The call for nullification comes just days after the APC screening committee released its list of cleared candidates.
Following the publication, several residents of Oshodi-Isolo reportedly voiced concerns, citing long-standing knowledge of Oloyede’s family background and earlier academic history.
Among them are individuals who claimed to have attended school with him and who now question the legitimacy of the records he submitted.
Investigator news reports that eyebrows were also raised due to his familial links, as Otunba Kehinde Oloyede is widely known within the community as one of the twin sons of Alhaja Taiwo Almoroof, the former Iyaloja of Oshodi, whose tenure was terminated during the Tinubu-led administration in Lagos.
CPGG insists that the matter must not be ignored and has urged both the APC leadership and the appropriate authorities to investigate the allegations thoroughly.
“This is about setting a precedent for accountability in our local government system,” the group noted.
