The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government,Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD),on Tuesday 3, February 2026,led a drainage desilting exercise at Afariogun Street, Seriki Aro, to improve water flow and prevent flooding.

The initiative which aligns with the IKEJA Agenda’s Environmental and Health Initiatives was executed by staff of the Department of Environment under the leadership of the Head of Department (HoD).

It is aimed at improving water flow, preventing flooding, and promoting a cleaner and healthier environment for residents of the area.

Comrade AKOD noted that environmental cleanliness remains a critical component of disease prevention, flood control, and overall community well-being.

He reaffirmed his commitment to hands-on governance and environmental sanitation, emphasizing the importance of a cleaner environment for residents’ well-being

“The Ikeja Local Government will continue to prioritize environmental interventions that directly impact the safety, health, and quality of life of its residents,with the IKEJA Agenda, particularly the ‘E’ pillar, which focuses on Environmental and Health Initiatives.”he said
