Chairman Council Of Ndieze,Eze Nwokedi Offers Free Fuel To Over 100 Okada Riders To Celebrate His Birthday.

In a heartwarming gesture to mark his birthday celebration, instead of the normal pomp and pageantry,Eze Ambassador Chika.C. Nwokedi, Chairman Council Of Ndieze Eze,Lagos State decided to mark the celebration by giving out free fuel worth N3000, cash gifts and emblems to over 100  motorcycle (Okada) riders  within Ijegun and Ijedodo community.

The charitable initiative, which took place amid smiles and cheers from the beneficiaries, was not only a celebration of Eze Nwokedi’s life and leadership but also a direct intervention to ease the burden of economic hardship faced by many local transporters.

Investigator news reports that the excersise started off from Estate Junction in Ijegun and Isheri Osun junction where the riders received fuel from NNPC filling station. Eze Nwokedi moved down to the Ijagemo axis and Fire service bus stop where the okada riders also benefited from the gift as the riders affirmed that no individual has demostrated the exercise carried out by Eze Nwokedi within and outside Ijegun and Ijedodo community.

The riders, which consist of the Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa, chanted praises of hope, admiration and gratitude following the unprecedented actions of the celebrant, Eze Chika Nwokedi, who has chosen to mark his birthday by giving back to the society.

Speaking during the exercise,Eze Nwokedi who is the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo community said the gesture was inspired by God as a way giving to the society  and his own desire to uplift the masses at the grassroots.

“I am always celebrating my birthday just to thank God almighty for giving me another life and I have decided to mark this year own with okada riders and also visit the motherless babies home(as usual)so as to put smiles on their faces.

He noted that many people are being celebrated in death, buried with expensive casket and giving a burial worth millions of naira but when they were alive never did same to the less privileged.

Eze Nwokedi describe his birth as “Special”, noting that his growing up days was not a rosy one as he slept in the shop and took his bath outside for seven years without any assistance as friends and family abandoned him to his fate.

“I remembered when I was in Ladipo market,how I used to sleep in the shop,had my bath outside for seven years and I cried to God that if he blesses me,I will always give and touch lives and today once a begger is now a giver” he said.

Eze Okpoko 1 of Obodokwu who ascribed his act of giving from what he learnt from his mother urged individuals to always lend a helping hands to those in need,not minding what they would gain in return.

“My mother taught me to always share what I had and never to overlook the hungry when I was a child. These lessons have stuck with me to this day and today I have learnt a lot because whenever I don’t give,I don’t feel happy. I don’t have enough money but I can give people my last penny just to make sure they are happy ”

“Some claim to be extremely wealthy, but the real issue is: how many lives have you been able to impact with your wealth? Regardless of the amount in your account, money is worthless if it isn’t used to improve lives.”

“How many people are pleased that you are eating, then? What percentage of people have paid school fees for those in need? What number of lives have you impacted? My philanthropic abilities are not manifested in abundance but rather in the motivations underlying my altruistic deeds.”

“I remembered also when I was younger,I participated in the construction of Christian Pentecostal Mission (CPM)in my village for free, and today I can say that I am reaping all the seeds I have sown which is now opening doors for me” he submitted

He applauded the riders for their resilience, noting that their contribution to local transportation and economy cannot be overemphasised, while encouraging them to be law abiding and pray for the Government for more wisdom to rule its citizenry.

Speaking on the significance of the emblem to the okada riders,Eze Nwokedi stated that the essence was to improve security and prevent illicit activity that involves the corroboration of some Okada riders.

” I gave out an insignia for the riders to use as identification so that individuals can know and identify those who is carrying them for security reasons because many bad elements are using okada to commit so many atrocities but with this emblem and numbers on it,we can easily identify them whenever there is an issues through their chairman.

“I only gave them 100 today,in the next three months, I am going to acquire more for them so as know the legitimate motorcyclist “he said.

Investigator news also reports that Eze Ambassador Chika Nwokedi has donated a portion of his purchased land to more than six people as a gift to the underprivileged, constructed more than ten bungalows for members of his community, provided for more than 100 widows each year, served as a support system for numerous back-to-school children,donated motorcycles to numerous unemployed young people in his Imo State town.

In response, many of the Okada riders expressed deep appreciation to Eze Nwokedi describing him as a rare kind of leader who understands the people’s needs.

With joy written on their faces, they showered prayers and praises on him,thanking him for remembering them in such a practical and impactful way.

“I am happy and grateful to God almighty for giving him another year to celebrate. I also appreciate him for what he has done today by giving us fuel of N3,000 for free, though I am not surprised,he has been doing this before now,my prayers for him is that he would live long and I encourage others to emulate him ” Ozoemena Amaechi.

“He is a good man ,he does not discriminate whether you are Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo and I pray that as he celebrates today,he would live to see more years ahead” Jimoh Alao.

Other beneficiaries stated that Eze Nwokedi has enhanced security measures constituted in safeguarding the lives of people in his jurisdiction of reign in Ijegun as they further recounted the celebrant’s contribution to the development of the Ijegun community, which includes streetlight installation, business enhancement capital for businesswomen, catering for the widows, the less privileged and sick persons, and some in-street road projects he funded.

Speaking with newsmen,the Council Chairman of Eze Okpoko palace, Chief Godwin Anaeme described the celebrant as a man of “big heart” who does not discriminate as he tries to accommodate everyone around him, praying that God will grant good health,long life and more money so that he would continue with the good work he is doing.

Also Emeka Onwukaobi, the onowu of Ijegun Ijeododo, reiterated Eze Chika Nwokedi’s commitment to bettering the lives of the people in his jurisdiction of reign and beyond.

He said that Eze Chika’s philanthropic exercise has been a norm for many years and is still counting while wishing the monarch long life in good health.

 

Lending his voice,Hon. Charles Charles Okadire describe him as a selfless leader who has imbibed the norms of catering for the needs of the homeless and less privileged persons in the society.

He recounted how Eze Nwokedi has touched both the indigene and non indigenes following his rule as the Chairman Council Of Ndieze Lagos State and Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo community, stating that the monarch is a good and humble man while wishing you long life and more wisdom and understanding.

 

The Obi Udo of Ijegun Ijeododo, Chukwuemeka Azuruike, noted that the celebrant, Eze Chika, is a cheerful giver with a touch of humanity for the less privileged and says the celebrant is categorically the best man he’s met.

In a joyful mood, the wife of the celebrant, Pastor Mrs Ambassador Tessy Chika Nwokedi described her husband as a backbone to many destinies.

She stated that Eze Chika Nwokedi made the decision this year to do more for the underprivileged in society by giving out free fuel to the okada riders, while praying that God should grant him more success, wisdom and understanding.

“I have said it before no Juju can kill him, anyone who tries to touch him would face the heavily armed angels surrounding him .

” He will not die young, the destinies that is tied to his destiny to uplift them ,he must carry them along and must received everything the lord has release in his hands to bless them.”

“He will live long to give to people because he is a man of the people and wherever he goes, people recognizes him as a good man,so I wish him long life, wisdom, understanding,more money and he would live above 100 years ” she submitted.

Investigator news gathered that the fuel distribution exercise, held under a peaceful and well-coordinated atmosphere, served as both a celebration of leadership and a message of hope for a better future to the people of Ijegun and Ijedodo community.

It will be recalled that on Saturday 2, August 2025,the Igbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria celebrated the August born at their secretariat where the celebrants showered gift items to those who attended the event.
