In a bid to strengthen the bonds within the Ndigbo community,the Chairman Council Of Ndieze, Lagos State,Eze Ambassador.C.C. Nwokedi, has made a passionate plea for the establishment of a permanent secretariat for Ndigbos.

This call to action is driven by his conviction that a dedicated space for meetings, events, and community activities will foster greater unity, cooperation, and progress among Ndigbos.

With over 30 years of existence without a permanent secretariat, Eze Nwokedi believes it’s high time for Ndigbo organizations, particularly Ohaneze Ndigbo and Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos, to have a permanent home.

Eze Ambassador Nwokedi disclosed this during the unveiling of new permanent secretariat of Ndigbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria,emphasizing that this will not only enhance the organizations’ functionality but also provide a sense of belonging and identity for Ndigbos.

By having a permanent secretariat, Eze Nwokedi,who is the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun/Ijedodo community envisions a space where Ndigbos can come together, share ideas, and work towards common goals.

He stresses that this will be a significant step towards building a stronger, more united Ndigbo community.

Nwokedi who is the President Ndigbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria uses the Association’s own experience with a permanent secretariat which serves as a testament to the benefits of such a space, noting that under his leadership, the association has been able to provide various benefits to its members, including land allocation, financial support, and community outreach programs.

He went further to state that the association has secured over 150 plots of land at a low cost for members, offered zero-interest loans for businesses and life-saving opportunities for members and sponsoring out-of-school children, the less privileged, and providing for widows and motherless babies

“With the commissioning, members are allowed to hold personal events for free at the event ground of the Secretariat Complex and the event ground is officially open to those who will like to rent for events, and proceeds from these events will be redirected into more developments for the association”

“The association love for its members has led to securing an allocation of over 150 plots of land at a low cost, members also benefit from zero interest loans for businesses, there is life saving opportunities which includes money donation for sick members, sponsoring of events like birthdays, a child dedication event, burial or any other form of ceremony.”he stated

Investigator news reports that Eze Nwokedi’s advocacy for a permanent secretariat is a call to action for Ndigbo leaders to prioritize the needs of their community and work towards creating a more prosperous and united future for all Ndigbos.

In his speech,the Chairman of Igando/Ikotun,Hon Lasisi Akinsanya who was represented by his Voice Chairman,Hon. Mrs Mojisola Ayinke Badmus rallied support for the APC in the upcoming local government elections, emphasizing the importance of inclusive governance.

Hon Ayinke Badmus who was accompanied by some APC executives and stakeholders of the party applauded Eze Chika Nwokedi for his exemplary leadership qualities and his non- tribalistic approach towards ensuring peaceful coexistence of Igbos in the Ijegun Ijeododo community.

She called on the Igbos to come out enmass and vote for the All Progressive Congress candidates in the forthcoming LGA election, while recounting the commitment of the local government in terms of infrastructural development and security enhancement, stating that if re-elected into office, the Chairman would embark on more road infrastructure and welfare of Ndigbo in the area.

Responding,Eze Nwokedi promised that Ndigbo who are residents under the Ikotun-Igando LCDA will support APC at the oncoming local government elections, while urging the party to also accommodate Igbo inclusivity in leadership positions.

Lending his voice,the President Igbo speaking community, Chief Sunday Udeh called on the All Progressive Congress to prioritize Igbo representation in leadership positions, stating that Igbos are being relegated to the background after full participation during elections resulting in activeness in subsequent elections.

He therefore urge that Igbos are appointed into various capacities in the local government, thereby giving them the zeal to do more in the forthcoming general election.

Chief Sunday Udeh went further to commend the permanent secretariat achievement by the Ndigbo Buru’Otu Association, while recounting his efforts made to actualise same results for Igbo Speaking Community which has yielded no results so far.

He says he is challenged to make more efforts to see to the permanent secretariat project to ensure his dedication to the course of leadership.

Speaking to newsmen,the Vice President of Ndigbo Buru Otu,Amb.Godswill Chukwuemeka Ogbuka stated that what kept the association floating is unity and onenes,doing things in common as they have invested into so many lives, supported individuals who are in dire need.

Ogbuka noted that the association would be celebrating their 10years anniversary this year and will be recognizing individuals who has contributed to the development of their community, especially those in the armed forces.

The second Vice President Rev. Dr. Moses CC Okwuosa thank God for his mercies upon the lives of Ndigbo Buru Otu association, while urging individuals to be patient, work hard, transparent and be sincere and with collective efforts they will succeed.

“I want to let every individual to know that everything about life is grace because grace differs and anyone telling you that before getting to any level,there is no challenges,that man or woman is a liar but the gospel truth is that in the midst of these challenges God has been faithful because when grace appears, disgrace will disappear and I must tell you challenges has been there but with inspiration from God and the effort of the visionary leader of Eze Ambassador Nwokedi we were able to come this far”he stated

Chief Dr. Godwin Anaeme,the Akajiofor of Ndigbo Ijegun and Ijedodo community opined that the association has paid their dues and deserve the best.

” Ndigbo Buru Otu association is united and always speak with one voice,I want to urge every individual to be part of the association because is a place you will be because we advocate for one another” he submitted

 

 

The task force chairman High Chief Ndubisi Ebem and Ifeanyi Agbo appraised the effort of the Eze Chika Nwokedi who put into perspective the importance of the permanent secretariat project, while affirming the availability of funds for members in loans and grants, provision for widows twice a year and other benefits for members.They urge the every Igbo man to associate themselves with the association.

Highlight of the event was the unveiling the Ndigbo Buru Otu association secretariat and the birthday celebration of July celebrants
