Fatuhu Muhammad, the member representing Katsina’s Sandamu/Daura/Maiadua Federal Constituency, has threatened to destabilise the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and then join the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in protest of “injustice” meted out to him during his party’s just-concluded primary elections.
Aminu Jamo defeated Mr Muhammad, a nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari. Mr. Jamo received 117 votes, while Mr. Muhammadu received 30.
Mr Muhammad threatened to reclaim his “stolen” ticket or leave the party in a now-viral phone conversation.
The lawmaker was overheard telling someone he referred to as Ranka ya dade (meaning: Sir) that he would destroy the APC in Katsina State during the six minutes and twenty-two seconds audio review.

He stated that if the party decides to hold another election, he will not run because he is the rightful winner of the primary election held last week.
“They won’t be able to hold another election (primary) because I won this one while they broke the law.” “They should just give me my ticket back, or we should meet in court, or else I’ll destroy the party and bring in a new one,” he said.
“I can even bring the fruit party (NNPP) to Daura and they’ll just see Kwankwaso party.” Yes, I am capable of doing so because everyone is fighting for his own interests. They should visit the poor and tell them what they have done for them. I’ll also talk about what I’ve done for the poor, and we’ll see who the poor choose,” he said.
Mr Muhammad stated that he would demolish the party not only in the president’s hometown of Daura, but throughout the state.
“I swear, I’ll destroy the APC in Katsina state because Nura Khalil (NNPP governorship aspirant) and his supporters are waiting for me in Funtua and other places, but I asked them to wait a little longer.” So why should I let anyone annoy me in my ancestral home? If it’s a monarchy, who better to succeed the president than me, because I’m from the father’s side?
Some of them who aren’t even related to him (President Buhari) in any meaningful way can’t come here and claim to be the real Buhari people just because we’re afraid to address them as who they are,” he said.

While assuring the other speaker on the other end that he (Mr Muhammad) would not be violent in reclaiming his ticket, he added that he is no one’s “political boy” and thus cannot be forced to do so.
In the phone conversation, he did not explain how he was robbed of the ticket by those he described as his “enemies.”
