The president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has allegedly prepared traps for his incoming successor, President-elect Bola Tinubu, according to former federal legislator Shehu Sani.
He revealed this while criticising the departing administration’s shortcomings.
Buhari wants his administration to seem better, according to Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly.
Additionally, he said that Buhari had abandoned a nation with no clear economic policy.
“He led the country without any economic direction,” he said in a tweet. His administration failed to protect Nigerians’ lives, resulting in 63,000 fatalities, 3 million internal displacements, and 366,000 refugees in bordering nations.
“He didn’t reorganise as he said he would. Rich people received exemptions from him, while the poor became poorer. He opened the gates to those who use ships and blocked them to those who bring in bundles of rice on motorbikes.
“He erected enchanted pyramids that vanished after three days. He left behind unfinished projects and enormous debt that would take decades to pay off.
“For eight years, he strengthened, enriched, and enabled a cabal. He hired and kept unsuccessful people and gave them promotions. He had trouble making judgements and would flee when things became difficult.
“He has made London his home despite not having a home there. Record levels of poverty, devaluation, unemployment, GDP decline, and looting of public funds were among the many records he left behind.
“He left a country where 60 million people struggle with mental diseases. The striking healthcare workers are being left in his wake. In order to make his own government appear better, he prepared traps for the next administration.
