His Eminence, Samuel Kanu Uche, the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, was kidnapped on Sunday in the Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia, along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
He and Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark, the Methodist Bishop of Owerri and the Prelate’s Chaplain, were kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The clergymen were kidnapped in the afternoon, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), while on their way home from a programme in the council area.
The incident was confirmed to our correspondent by SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, the Abia Police Public Relations Officer.
“It’s a pity.” Efforts to save him and the other priests with him are at a fever pitch.
“Please help us save them by providing us with credible information,” he said.
