A building at 118 Broad Street, CMS, in Lagos has reportedly experienced a fire outbreak.
According to a statement by Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the organisation responded to the incident after it was reported to LASEMA through its toll-free 112 emergency number on Tuesday morning.
“Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, it was found that a room in a warehouse where shoes are stored had been completely destroyed by fire.
“A power surge that occurred when the electricity was restored caused the fire to start.
“Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident. Responders at the scene of the incident working together to put out the fire include members of the agency’s response team, LRU fire, Lagos State fire service, and Federal fire service. Operation ongoing,” the statement added.
