In the early hours of Tuesday, heavily armed bandits invaded the Damba area of Zamfara’s Gusau Local Government Area (LGA) and kidnapped the wife of the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Sanusi Isah Gusau.
Gusau’s wife is nine months pregnant, according to reports.
Around 12:40 a.m., the attack occurred.
Bandits have recently increased their attacks and abductions in communities across the state.
The state government recently warned that if the attacks continued, it would be forced to take tough measures, including reconsidering the shutdown of state telecommunications services.
Attempts to reach the Zamfara Police Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Shehu, for further confirmation and clarification on the Damba attack were futile because he did not answer the phone.
