In a bid to enhance community safety and security, the Ojokoro Council Chairman,Hon Hammed Idowu.D.Tijani has taken a significant step by commissioning the newly constructed ultra-modern Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps(NSCDC)Divisional Office.
The building which is strategically located in Ajegunle IIo on the boundary of Ojokoro is expected to bolster security measures in the area, providing residents with a sense of safety and reassurance and reinforcing the community’s security architecture and ensuring a swifter response to criminal activities, particularly in border areas.
In his remarks, HID explained that the initiative stemmed from the necessity to relocate the NSCDC office from the flood-prone Ayewadun Market to a more secure and functional location, achieved through mutual understanding and collaboration. He described the new building as a symbol of safety and vigilance, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to enhancing security, safeguarding lives and property, and fostering stronger partnerships between security agencies and the citizenry.

Investigator news reports that the commissioning ceremony attracted an array of dignitaries, including the Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo (BAO), who had the honour of officially inaugurating the facility.
As the immediate past Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Olabinjo expressed his satisfaction at witnessing the continuity and consolidation of development initiatives by his successor.
He commended HID for sustaining the vision and raising the bar of good governance, describing the project as a testament to purposeful and effective leadership.
Among those present were traditional rulers such as Oba Adeshoga Adetola Williams (Tomia I), Hon. Olootu Emmanuel, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ifako-Ijaiye II, religious leaders, CDA executives, and APC stalwarts. The Lagos State Commandant of NSCDC, represented by Deputy Commandant Jimoh Sulaiman, praised HID’s administration for its unwavering support and presented an Award of Excellence to the Chairman in recognition of his dedication to grassroots security.
In his speech,Hon. HID seized the occasion to appreciate all stakeholders—community leaders, religious institutions, market associations, and the security network—for their collaboration through monthly security meetings and intelligence-sharing platforms.
He encouraged residents to continue supporting the NSCDC and other agencies with credible information, assuring them of protection and confidentiality.
