The deputy governor urged people to put aside their differences and work with the government for peace and community development.

He warned the Odioma people not to arrest and counter-arrest themselves, saying the government would act decisively against anyone who threatened the peace effort.

Ewhrudjakpo said, “If you continue to fight, who are we going to talk to and work with to execute the projects you came here to request the other day? You won’t develop because we won’t recognise any faction.

“That’s not acceptable. We encourage you to complement each other instead of competing, which only causes conflict.

“I told the Commissioner of Police that nobody should be charged to court based on the current arrests until we finish what we are doing. No more arrests from you, too.

“Anyone who arrests again, the government will be forced to declare you a persona non grata and an enemy of the state.”
