Aswani-Emzor Way:Isolo Council Boss,Hon Olasoju Flags Off Construction Of Aswani-Emzor Way

 As part of its efforts in alleviating the suffering of indigenes and residents of lsolo local government,the Executive Chairman of lsolo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State,Hon Olasoju Adebayo has decided to take it upon himself to construct the Aswani-Emzor Way.

Isolo Local Council Development Area administration of Olasoju Adebayo is poised to end the year on a high as it held the flag-off/ground-breaking ceremony of Emzor Way reconstruction on Thursday.

Investigator news reports that the Trunk B’ road which stretches from the tip of the Mile 2/Badagry Express Way service lane by Five-Star Bus-stop to Osolo Way has been subject of public discourse lately due to its dilapidated state; inhibiting vehicular movement and haulage needs of companies situated on the axis.

In a flagoff and ground breaking ceremony which took place on Thursday, December 12,2024,,Hon Olasoju noted that his administration could not but heed the cry of road users who have had to endure its deteriorating condition in recent times regardless of the category of roads it falls.

“Everybody will say Aswani/Emzor Road is in bad shape, some will even call my name on the radio, it’s close to the council but what I’ll say is; most people cannot even differentiate between a state and local government road so when we met at our executive council meeting, we all agreed that this road must be reconstructed. We sought approval and the governor graciously did that and today (Thursday) we are here flagging off the reconstruction of Aswani that people popularly call Emzor Road,” he stated

Olasoju went further to state after constructing the Aswani-Emzor road,it will help the motorists who are plying the road, noting that the  project’s time frame as well the expected standard of job is expected to be commissioned in the next 6 months, while appealing for understanding while the construction lasts.

 “It is your road. It is our road. Everyone plying this road should bear with us while the reconstruction lasts. The police, LASTMA, LNSC and others have assured us of effective traffic management on Osolo way while the reconstruction is on. I’ll appeal to us to be patient”.he submitted.

Chief Otunba Henry Oladele Ajomale who was one of the special guests applauded the council boss for his transformational strides as he called on corporate organizations including the ones on Emzor way corridor to improve on their corporate social responsibility (CSR) since nation-building requires all hands being on deck.

 “It’s a herculean task for a local government to decide to do this type of road. It’s not easy, it’s too big, it’s too large. It is only the state and federal governments that can undertake such project. But we thank God that Isolo LCDA ably led by our chairman is confronting this road head-on and I think it’s a very great achievement for someone to have embarked on this type of road.

 “I will like to beg the companies around here to cooperate with our chairman to ensure the success of this road. It’s for their own use because it’s a road that will enhance their commercial activities. I expect that they will assist the local government in completing the road so that this project can be completed in time,” he stated

 Speaking on behalf of the Corporate organization, Mr Emmanuel Asemota, a representative of Chellmarms who spoke on behalf of the companies within the corridor lauded the council chairman for prioritizing the project as he assured that the corporate organizations will join hands in every way possible with the council authority to see to the seamless and timely completion of the project.

Otunba Jide Oni who spoke with investigator news congratulated the council chairman for embarking on such people-oriented and developmental projects.

 Oni noted that the projects demonstrate the passion of lsolo to ensure that the people enjoy the dividend of good governance, while urging him not to relent on his oars.

Speaking with newsmen in his office,Hon Olasoju highlighted some of his achievements since he assumed office which include “back to school project where he distributed school bags,sandals and exercises books to over 7,000 children, distributed free GCE and 2000 Jamb forms.He has done free surgeries and lVF to so many individuals and many more

Investigator news reports that dignitaries who attended the event include the regent of Isolo Kingdom, High Chief Saliu Wasiu Arowo-oye, Baales of Ilasamaja, Isale Odo, Orishadeko, and Alagbeji clans, the State Auditor of the All Progressives congress (APC), Hon. Adedoyin Pikuda, APC Chairman in Isolo LCDA, Barrister Gani Bello, Otunba Jide Oni, Alhaji Wahab Raji, the Chief Imam of Isolo, Sheikh Qasim Hassan Ajiyan, management of the contracting firm – Taikeab Nig. Ltd, Council Management, Secretary to Local Government – Hon. Sikiru Adesina Salisu leading the cabinet members as well as the council vice chairman, Hon. Shakir Adeola Sadiq who delivered the vote of thanks among others.
