Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration says a top-notch tourism and recreation park will be constructed at Agulu Lake in the state’s Anaocha Local Government Area, according to Hon. Don Onyenji, the Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment.

The tourism and leisure park, when it is built, will be a major tourist destination and will also be a genuine source of clients for the Golden Tulip Hotel located in the Agulu Lake environment, according to Onyenji, a seasoned broadcaster of 41 years standing who revealed the plan to our correspondent in Awka.

He added that there are many things in the tourism sector that are still unknown and that the Soludo administration would reveal. He said the governor is passionate about the project because it is in line with the vision and mission to create a liveable, lovable, and prosperous new Anambra that is conducive and hospitable for everyone.
The Commissioner stated that the current state government is working horizontally and vertically across all sectors of the Anambra economy and that the government is already succeeding. The Commissioner added that the Soludo administration is bringing huge surprises. He was optimistic that when what is on the ground germinates, Ndi-Anambra would be perplexed at the quantum of positive results they would see.

Onyenji also suggested that the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, the National Tourism Development Commission, and the National Museums and Monuments had sent representatives to the ministry to visit the Ogbunike Cafe in the Oyi local government area of the state and attest to its appeal on a global scale and potential for financial gain.

He claimed that more has been done to make Ogbunike Cafe a UNICEF global heritage site so that people from all over the world could visit and appreciate the cafe’s gift from nature as a top travel destination.

The Commissioner stated that in addition to the Ogbunike Cafe, other tourist destinations in Anambra State, such as the Oba-Ukwu Cafe and Waterfalls at Owerre-Ezukala, Igboukwu Museum, Zik Mausoleum in Onitsha, and others, would be upgraded to international standards while local communities would create their own heritage sites so that those who are not yet well-known would be made aware.
Once more, he asserted that the growth of the state’s tourist attractions would create jobs for the local populace, increase tax revenue, and—most importantly—bring leisure and adventure travelers from around the globe to Anambra state.
