Ejigbo, Lagos –The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo, has formally sworn in newly appointed Supervisors, Special Advisers and the first female Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) in the council, charging them to serve with integrity, transparency and accountability.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat, attracted party leaders, community stakeholders and government officials who gathered to witness what the chairman described as a significant step in strengthening governance and improving service delivery at the grassroots level.
Addressing the newly appointed officials, Aare Taiwo urged them to see their appointments as a call to service and a responsibility to the people of Ejigbo LCDA.
According to him, leadership at the local government level requires dedication and a strong commitment to the welfare of residents, as it represents the closest tier of government to the people.
He emphasized that transparency, accountability and excellence must guide their actions in office, adding that the success of the administration depends on their collective efforts.
While congratulating the appointees, the chairman noted that their appointments were based on their track records of dedication and commitment to public service, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Aare Taiwo also stressed the need for teamwork, collaboration and mutual respect among political leaders, stakeholders and council officials, regardless of differences in political affiliation, religion or background.
He encouraged the officials to align fully with the administration’s development agenda, which focuses on improving security, strengthening healthcare services, promoting education, delivering sustainable infrastructure and empowering youths, women and vulnerable members of the community.
“Leadership must demonstrate integrity, an ethical governance while ensuring that every programme and projects you are taking delivers tangible and meaningful benefits of our people.

Special attention was given to the newly appointed Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Yemisi Otuyemi, whom the chairman described as a key figure responsible for coordinating activities across departments and ensuring effective implementation of government policies.
He also reminded the Supervisors and Special Advisers that their roles are vital in planning and executing programmes that will positively impact residents across the council area.
“To our secretary to the local government Hon. Yemisi Otuyemi, your office is pivotal in ensuring incentive coordination across all the departments , and supervising the implementation of policies.”
” To our supervisors and special advisers, your expertise and guidance will shape the planning and execution of programmes that affect every residence in our local council development area.
” Together your collective effort will define the legacy of the this administration. I also charged you to cooperate fully with dedicated, meriteous, progressive, committed first work in Lagos state, start with Ejigbo LGA.
” Since I have assumed office, i have worked tirelessly with coordination, effective police implementation and delivery of dividends to the good people of our local council development area.
” Recognize that there are dedication, experience, institutional knowledge are indispensable to the success of your offices and progress of our administration”. The Chairman submitted
In his welcome address, the Council Manager, Pastor Olusegun Ajagunna, congratulated the newly sworn-in officials and urged them to support the administration’s development agenda with dedication and commitment.
He also encouraged them to work towards delivering the benefits of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to residents at the grassroots level.
Among those sworn in as Supervisors were Hon. Tajudeen Sulaimon (Environment), Hon. Paul Ojedokun (Political Affairs), Hon. Saheed Kasumu (Health), Hon. Kehinde Onadeko (Special Duties), Hon. Abdulsalam Rasaq Abolore (Youth and Sports), Hon. Adebisi Sodiq (ICT and Legislative Matters), Hon. Ogundowole Abimbola (Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation), Hon. Mathew Gbadegesin (Agriculture and Rural Development), Hon. Akeem Omolumo (Information and Strategy), Hon. Mrs. Agboola Folakemi Iyunade (Education) and Hon. Babatunde Abdul Azeez (Wealth and Job Creation).
Also sworn in as Special Advisers were Hon. Kehinde Abdullah (Religious Matters), Mr. Sukore Peter (Chieftaincy and Boundary Matters), Hon. Adelabu Akeem Adebayo (Budget and Statistics) and Hon. Ridwan Akinwunmi (Tourism and Culture).
Additionally, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Abimbola Nicholas-Ike, was sworn in as Supervisor for Revenue Generation, while Hon. Yemisi Otuyemi officially assumed office as the first female Secretary to the Local Government,Alhaji Rahman Taiwo was also appointed as Chief of Staff.
Speaking with journalists after the ceremony, Hon. Otuyemi expressed appreciation to the chairman for the opportunity to serve and pledged to work diligently to promote inclusiveness and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
Lending his voice, the Supervisory Councilor for Health,Hon Saheed Kasumu pledge to continue with the good work already put in place by the Executive Chairman.
“I have come to serve, protect and uphold the integrity of the local government, knowing fully well that health is one of the priority of the SHIELD agenda of Aare Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo and with God on my side,I know that I will do better to help in making our health centers a world class through the assistance of the Executive Chairman”he said.
His counterpart in youth and sports,Hon Abdulsalam Rasaq Abolore said “following my experience as a youth leader at the party level for over 7 years,I believe with my years of experience,that I will provide my expertise in the youth and sports development especially in the area of sports where we need a well equipped sports facilities, though we have a sport field but I would ensure with the support of the chairman who is a lover of sports to make it a sports complex ”
Also speaking with newsmen,the Executive Chairman,Aare Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo encouraged the newly appointed officials to do more, while imploring them to support and be loyal to his administration and by extension the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He went further to highlight some of the ongoing project carried out by his administration which include, the groundbreaking of construction of a modern primary school at Morning Star,flag off the total reconstruction of double star road in OkeAfa, total reconstruction of Ilufunmi and Abuna street which is ongoing and has been adjudged as one of the best local government chairman in terms of cleaniness.
Aare TAT opined that his choice for a woman as Supervisory Councilor for Education is to further speak that women are nutural and we have handed to them the future of our children so that we can have a better future for our children.
Hon Mrs Ambibola Nicholas Ike opined that she would use her office as the Supervisory Councilor for Revenue generation to make the people know the importance of performing their civil responsibility so as to move the council forward and provide more infrastructural development to the people of Ejigbo LCDA.
Ambibola urge the newly appointed officials to make good use of their office by being transparent, dedicated and loyal to the administration of Aare Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo.
The ceremony featured the administration of the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance by Barrister Olawale Adesola and members of the council’s legal team.
The event was attended by party leaders, council officials, community representatives and security agencies, including the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Shobande Gabriel.
