Prior to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) primary election, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, had warned a former aspirant, Governor Nyesom Wike, not to waste his money on April 5.
The popular clergy said in a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike will not be able to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Wike could only fit in as Vice President, according to Primate Ayodele, who advised him to abandon his presidential ambitions and support someone else.
“Governor Wike cannot become President of Nigeria; instead, he should seek a position as Vice President; instead of wasting money and energy, he should support a presidential candidate who he can deputise,” he said.
During his consultations with Wike, Ayodele warned him not to “shoot himself in the leg,” claiming that all power belongs to God.

However, Wike contested the party’s primary against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and others, believing he would secure the party’s presidential ticket.

At the PDP’s convention in Abuja on Saturday, Atiku was declared the winner with 371 votes, while Wike received 237 votes despite the support of several governors.
Governor Wike, who is set to finish his second term in office in 2023, has yet to make an announcement about his next move.
