The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Dr. Seyi Jakande, has provided succour to pupils, teachers and management of Ilupeju Nursery and Primary School, Ilupeju, with the installation of a brand-new borehole facility in the school premises.
The project, which now guarantees steady access to clean and potable water, is part of the administration’s strategic effort to tackle water scarcity in public institutions and promote a healthy learning environment.
Speaking on the intervention, the Council Chairman said no child should have to struggle for water in school, noting that access to safe water is fundamental to hygiene, sanitation, and effective learning.
“When children have clean water, they stay healthier, learn better and grow with dignity. This is about securing the future of our children through basic but impactful infrastructure,” the Council noted.
Investigator news reports that the facility is expected to serve not only the pupils and teachers for drinking, handwashing, cleaning and other daily needs, but also members of the immediate school community.
Jakande emphasized that investing in school infrastructure remains a top priority of the Jakande-led administration, as education thrives best where basic amenities are in place.
The development also aligns with the administration’s HEWA Agenda, which places people at the centre of governance by delivering projects that directly touch everyday lives and bring the dividends of democracy closer to the people.
