Lokoja,Kogi — Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has directed all political appointees to return to their constituencies immediately and begin aggressive grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Governor gave the charge on Tuesday during a strategic meeting with political office holders at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja. He declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) must work towards securing a 100 per cent victory in Kogi State.
Ododo said the responsibility of winning the confidence of the electorate cannot be left to a few people. He described the task as a collective political responsibility that demands personal commitment and constant presence at the grassroots.
“I charge every one of you to go back home now. Reconnect with your people. Engage the community leaders, youths, women and all stakeholders. Listen to them and tell them what this government is doing,” he stated.
The Governor stressed that government achievements must not remain trapped in government offices or on paper.
“Our achievements must be taken directly to the people. You are strategically positioned to explain the policies and programmes of the Kogi State Government and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he added.
Ododo urged appointees to remain accessible, responsive and politically active in their wards. He warned that the period ahead is not for political drama or complacency, but for serious engagement and strategic planning.
“The strength of the APC in Kogi State lies in our ability to speak with one voice, mobilise across communities and translate government achievements into renewed confidence among the electorate,” he said.
He further tasked them to ensure that “no community, ward or constituency is left behind” in the mobilisation drive.
Beyond politics, the Governor announced plans for a massive employment initiative aimed at creating over 12,000 opportunities for Kogites.
He said the initiative is part of his administration’s commitment to expand access to jobs and empower citizens, adding that people must feel the impact of government through employment, empowerment and development projects.
Ododo noted that the strategic meeting was a reaffirmation of his determination to deploy the full strength of the state’s political structure to achieve an unprecedented 100 per cent APC victory in 2027.
The meeting was attended by political appointees from across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
