LAGOS, NIGERIA — The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kadir Obafemi Hamzat Independent Campaign Group (PBAT-KOH ICG) has appointed former federal lawmaker, Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, as Chairman of its Advisory Council ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Investigator news reports that the appointment formed part of strategic efforts by the campaign group to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation structures and consolidate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Afikuyomi’s appointment was ratified during a strategic meeting held in Lagos, where key members of the campaign organisation reviewed plans for the forthcoming flag-off of its presidential campaign activities.
Speaking at the meeting, Senator Eshinlokun said the appointment was part of a broader strategy to establish a coordinated grassroots mobilisation network capable of reaching voters across the country.
He said the group would focus on ward-to-ward mobilisation and the deployment of effective polling booth canvassers as part of efforts to secure a decisive victory for President Tinubu in 2027.
According to him, the ICG is prepared to deploy its extensive network and political structures to mobilise millions of Nigerians in support of the President and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Also speaking, Dr. Bamigbade said Senator Afikuyomi’s appointment was in line with the directives and leadership vision of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, OON.
He explained that the Advisory Council would provide strategic direction and help coordinate the various support networks within the campaign organisation.
Bamigbade added that the council would work towards unifying the different support groups and structures into a cohesive campaign machinery capable of delivering strong grassroots support for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The leadership of PBAT-KOH ICG expressed confidence that the new structure would enhance coordination, strengthen grassroots engagement and contribute significantly to the campaign group’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Investigator news gathered that the meeting was attended by prominent members of the group, including the National Director General of PBAT-ICG, Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun; Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, who represented the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, OON; and the Principal Director General of PBAT-KOH ICG Lagos State, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu Dullar
