…Appoints 25 Others to Strategic Government Boards and Commissions.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of appointments into key Federal Government agencies and commissions, naming former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga,the appointment is with immediate effect.
According to the Presidency, the latest appointments are aimed at strengthening the leadership of strategic institutions and enhancing effective service delivery across critical sectors of the economy.
Fayose will chair the board of the Rural Electrification Agency, an organisation responsible for expanding access to electricity in rural and underserved communities across the country.
He will serve alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as members and non-executive directors.
The agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors will complete the board.
In another significant development, President Tinubu reconstituted the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, appointing Maj. Gen. Bindawa as Chairman.
Former member of the House of Representatives from Lagos State, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was named Secretary of the Commission.
Also appointed as commissioners are Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian representing Benue State, Oladele Olatubosun representing Oyo State, and Yakubu Umar Barde representing Kaduna State.
Other members of the commission include Dr. Mai Adamu Yau from Borno State, Ginika Florence Tor from Enugu State, Engineer Lawrence Okoh from Edo State, and Bello Morenike Iyabode from Kogi State.
President Tinubu also redeployed Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who was earlier appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), to serve as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.
The President further approved the appointment of Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), while Dr. Akinola Odeyemi was named Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET).
Similarly, Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, while Engineer Julius Oloro emerged as the new Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), replacing the late Dr. A.R. Kamal, who died in January this year.
As part of the restructuring, President Tinubu also constituted a new board for the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman. Other members of the board are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
In the education sector, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was earlier reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF).
The President also approved the appointment of Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned from the position to pursue his governorship ambition in Benue State.
Iorja is an economist, legal scholar, academic, and currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).
The Presidency stated that all the appointments take immediate effect, underscoring the administration’s commitment to strengthening public institutions through experienced leadership and ensuring efficient delivery of government policies and programmes across the country.
