………Constitutes Committees for New Development Programmes

Isolo, Lagos–The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Isolo Local Branch, has reinforced its commitment to youth development and community transformation with the successful hosting of its July Management Meeting, where leaders unveiled fresh strategies aimed at expanding youth engagement and delivering more impactful programmes across the council area.
The meeting held at the Ilasamaja Community Hall,attracted heads of the council’s affiliate Voluntary Youth Organisations (VYOs), Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), past coordinators, executive members and other critical stakeholders who gathered to review the council’s activities over the past month and chart a new course for future interventions.
Presiding over the meeting, the Coordinator of the branch, Comrade Damilola Kushimo, described youth engagement as the foundation of sustainable community development, stressing that the council remains committed to creating opportunities that will equip young people with leadership skills, civic awareness and economic empowerment.
Investigator news reports that a major highlight of the meeting was the comprehensive review of completed programmes and the adoption of new human capital development initiatives designed to improve the capacity of young people in Isolo.
To ensure the effective execution of the proposed programmes, various planning committees were immediately constituted and assigned specific responsibilities.
The council also intensified its advocacy on the ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration exercise.
Kushimo encouraged all eligible youths who are yet to obtain their voter cards to take advantage of the arrangements facilitated by the leadership, noting that active participation in the electoral process remains one of the most effective ways for young people to shape the future of their communities.
Members were equally sensitised on the benefits of the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme, with the leadership encouraging wider enrolment to improve access to affordable healthcare.
Other developmental programmes of the Lagos State Government and Isolo LCDA were also highlighted as part of the council’s efforts to keep members informed of opportunities available to them.
In recognition of discipline and dedication, branded NYCN T-shirts were presented to members who consistently arrived early for meetings. Kushimo explained that the initiative was introduced to reward commitment, encourage punctuality and promote a culture of excellence, responsibility and accountability within the organisation.
Speaking during the meeting, respected youth leader and former NYCN Isolo Coordinator, Comrade Saliu Adewole Jamiu, commended the executive committee for sustaining the activities of the council despite prevailing challenges.
He urged members to remain united, focused and committed to the ideals of the organisation while intensifying efforts toward programmes that would positively impact youths and contribute to the overall development of the Isolo community.
