IKEJA, LAGOS — The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), is set to celebrate his birthday on Sunday, June 7, 2026, with a special thanksgiving service, humanitarian outreach programmes, and prayers for peace and security across Nigeria.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Olalekan Oni,the celebration is designed as an expression of gratitude to Almighty God for His divine protection, abundant grace, and unwavering faithfulness to the chairman, his family, and the administration of Ikeja Local Government over the past two years.
The statement noted that the birthday anniversary provides an opportunity for the council boss to appreciate God for the successful and smooth running of the local government administration, which has witnessed several people-oriented projects and remarkable developmental strides under his leadership.
Investigator news reports that as part of the activities marking the occasion, a Special Thanksgiving Service will be held at the Celestial Church of Christ, Agidingbi Archdiocese, Agidingbi, Ikeja, by 12 noon.
The event is expected to attract political leaders, government officials, community stakeholders, religious leaders, family members, friends, and well-wishers. The Chairman of the Ikeja Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) will serve as the Chief Host.
Beyond the thanksgiving service, AKOD will embark on visits to selected churches and related institutions within Ikeja and its environs, where special prayers will be offered for children and families currently held captive by bandits in different parts of the country.
The outreach programme will also focus on supporting vulnerable and less privileged members of society, reflecting the chairman’s commitment to compassion, social welfare, and inclusive governance.
According to the statement, the initiative underscores AKOD’s deep concern for the plight of ordinary citizens and his belief in extending assistance to those in need regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, or religious background.
The birthday activities will culminate in a grand reception organised by youths and members of the AKOD family in Ikeja Local Government to celebrate the council chairman’s leadership and contributions to grassroots development.
Supporters and admirers described Comrade Dauda as a distinguished public servant, exemplary administrator, and grassroots politician whose leadership has continued to inspire confidence among residents of Ikeja.
They noted that his administration has remained focused on delivering democratic dividends while promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across the local government.
