The ancient town of Orile Alagbado was agog with excitement, colours, and cultural splendour as residents, traditional rulers, dignitaries, and visitors from different parts of the state converged for the 2026 Ojúde Ọba Festival.
The annual cultural celebration, hosted by the Oba of Orile Alagbado, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeshoga Williams Adeyoola (TOMIA I), provided a vibrant showcase of the rich Yoruba heritage through traditional music, captivating dance performances, and colourful displays of customs and traditions.
Speaking during the event, the monarch expressed profound appreciation for the remarkable turnout and support received from the community and invited guests.
He described the festival as a reflection of the unity, progress, and cultural awareness that continue to define the people of Orile Alagbado.
Kabiyesi specially acknowledged the presence and support of fellow royal fathers, including HRM Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Nasiru Akanbi, HRM Oba Kolawole Ajani Egundupe, HRM Oba Adebayo Iginla Akinbami, HRM Oba Oyedeji Kamila Akanni Isiba, and HRM Oba Riliwan Oluwalambe Taiwo, whose attendance added prestige to the celebration.
The monarch also commended the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Barr. Adenike Rosiji; the Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC), Hon. Benjamin Adeyemi Olabinjo; the Member representing Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; the Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. Abiodun Ishola Ejigbadero; and other notable stakeholders, including Hon. Emmanuel Olotu, Hon. Jamiu Alabi, Dr. Adekunle Olayinka, Hon. Jelili Oseni, Hon. Rasheed Makinde, and Hon. Salvador, for their invaluable contributions toward the success of the event.
Oba Adeyoola further extended gratitude to corporate and community partners such as Chemstar Group, D.G Hotel, Otunba Abewole Olugesan, the Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and Alhaji Azeez Abiola (Isijaba) for their support and commitment to the growth of the festival.
