The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, has felicitated with Muslim faithful across the world, especially motorists and residents of Lagos State, on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Bakare-Oki, on behalf of the management and staff of LASTMA, described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred period that reflects spiritual devotion, sacrifice, obedience to Almighty Allah, tolerance and unwavering faith.

He urged Muslims to continue to uphold the virtues of peace, compassion, discipline, selflessness and harmonious coexistence, which are central to the significance of the celebration.
The LASTMA General Manager also appealed to motorists, commercial drivers and other road users to exercise caution and responsibility on the roads before, during and after the festive period in order to safeguard lives and property.
He warned against reckless driving, over-speeding, dangerous overtaking, route violations and other traffic offences capable of causing avoidable accidents and fatalities.

Bakare-Oki further advised drivers to refrain completely from operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or other intoxicating substances that could impair judgment and coordination while driving.
According to him, strict adherence to traffic laws, approved speed limits and established road safety regulations remains vital to achieving a peaceful, hitch-free and accident-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration across Lagos State.
He assured residents that LASTMA officers would remain strategically positioned across major highways, critical traffic corridors and key intersections to ensure smooth vehicular movement, effective traffic control and prompt emergency response services throughout the celebration.
Bakare-Oki also called on residents and motorists to cooperate with traffic management officials and other security agencies by obeying all traffic regulations and safety directives put in place for public safety and orderliness.
He thereafter wished Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyous and spiritually rewarding Eid-el-Kabir celebration, while praying for sustained peace, unity, prosperity and socioeconomic growth in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
