Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, popularly known as ‘Dullar’, has officially withdrawn from the race for the Somolu House of Representatives seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, stressing the need to preserve party unity and democratic stability within Somolu Federal Constituency.
In a statement issued on Friday, Salawu said his decision was guided by loyalty to the party and commitment to the collective interest of the APC, noting that unity must always take precedence over personal ambition.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as progressive, disciplined, and selfless leadership, adding that the President has consistently demonstrated the importance of placing national interest above individual political considerations.
The APC chieftain stated that he accepted the party’s decision peacefully and in good faith, without protest or resentment, while calling on his supporters across Lagos State to remain calm, peaceful, and steadfast in their commitment to the party.
According to him, loyalty to the party structure and respect for internal democratic processes remain essential to sustaining harmony and long-term political success within the APC.
Salawu further expressed optimism that the same understanding and support he has shown would equally be extended to him whenever his political structure benefits from future decisions within the party system.
The statement reaffirmed his continued dedication to the growth of the APC and the advancement of democratic values in Somolu and beyond.
