The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Dr. Seyi Jakande (JAKO), has been honoured at the 5th edition of the City People Political Awards, held on Sunday, May 3.
The ceremony, which took place at Etal Hall on Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, attracted notable personalities from across Nigeria’s political landscape.

Dr. Jakande received the award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to governance, steadfast dedication to public service, and transformative leadership at the grassroots level.

Investigator news gathered that the City People Political Awards is an annual platform that celebrates politicians who have distinguished themselves through excellence and measurable impact in strengthening democratic governance and public administration.

The award was presented by Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS), APC apex leader in Mushin and Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye, underscoring the significance of the honour within the local political sphere.
Speaking at the event, organiser Seye Kehinde described Dr. Jakande as a committed and selfless leader, noting that all awardees were carefully selected based on merit and verifiable achievements.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the Special Adviser on Public Affairs and Digital Media expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, describing it as both an honour and a motivation to continue serving the people.
He reaffirmed his commitment to sustained development under the HEWA Agenda.
Other distinguished awardees included Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State; Hon. Adebayo Adefuye, Chairman of Yaba LCDA; Hon. Olatunbosun Aruwe, Chairman of Mushin Local Government; members of the Sanwo-Olu Youth Ambassadors for Tinubu 2027;
Others are Commissioner at the Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Hakeem Bamigbola; and Hon. (Mrs.) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Director General of NIDCOM, among others.
