The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Dr. Seyi Jakande, on Thursday joined members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in declaring support for the governorship ambition of Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.
The endorsement gathering took place at Protea Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja, where prominent party stakeholders assembled to sign Hamzat’s nomination form, signaling unity and firm backing for his candidacy ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
The exercise was coordinated by the immediate past Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Ajala, alongside the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Works, Hon. Adekunle Olayinka. Also present was the APC Chairman in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye, Hon. Ismail Babatunde Kazeem, popularly known as TUNKAZ.
Jakande’s presence highlighted the growing grassroots support for Hamzat, reflecting the alignment of local political leaders with the wider party structure in Lagos. The event further underscored the APC’s resolve to maintain unity as preparations intensify for the governorship race.
While signing the nomination form in line with APC guidelines ahead of the party’s primary election, party leaders expressed confidence in Hamzat’s candidacy and pledged full support for his aspiration.
Hamzat is regarded as the consensus candidate for the APC governorship primary expected to hold next month in Lagos.
Investigator news reports that he has received the backing of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, members of the Governance Advisory Council, and several party leaders across the state.
His ambition also received another boost on Thursday after fellow APC aspirant, Dr. Olajide Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor, stepped down in his favour. Former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode also congratulated Hamzat on his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate.
