The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, on Monday received the Divisional Immigration Officer (DIO) for Ikeja Local Government Area, Mr. O.S. Akintola, during a courtesy visit at Ikeja House.
The meeting provided an opportunity to deepen institutional collaboration between the Ikeja Local Government and the Nigeria Immigration Service, particularly in the areas of security coordination, border intelligence, and community engagement within the local government.
Speaking during the visit, Chairman AKOD commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for its strategic role in safeguarding national borders and strengthening internal security through effective migration management.
He stressed the importance of synergy between local government authorities and security agencies in tackling emerging security challenges at the grassroots level.
Comrade AKOD further reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting all security agencies operating within Ikeja, noting that peace and safety remain essential to sustainable development and the overall well-being of residents.
In his remarks, Mr. Akintola expressed appreciation for the warm reception and praised the proactive leadership of the Ikeja Local Government.
He assured the Council of the Nigeria Immigration Service’s continued cooperation and commitment to enhancing intelligence sharing and strengthening security within the locality.
