Ejigbo LCDA Chairman,Aare TAT Moves To Reduce Unemployment With Free Skills Training Initiative.

Lagos–Youths and women in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area are set to benefit from a free two-week skills acquisition programme initiated by the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Aare Taoheed Adebayo Ejigbo Local Council Development Area in collaboration with Blessed GumPat Foundation.

The initiative, approved by the Executive Chairman, Aare TAT is aimed at empowering residents with practical vocational skills to promote self-reliance, reduce unemployment, and enhance grassroots economic development.

According to a statement from the Office of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) and the Office of Supervisors for Job Creation, the training programme will run from April 20 to May 1, 2026, with sessions scheduled daily between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Participants will be trained in a wide range of vocational and entrepreneurial skills including:Home Essentials (Liquid Soap & Cosmetics Production),Fashion Designing,Shoes and Belt Making,DJ Music Production,CCTV and Solar Energy Installation,Head Wears/Auto Gele,Catering Services,Shawarma, Pafiat & Kosher Food Preparation,Tie and Dye Making,Make-up and Gele and hairdressing

The organisers noted that the diverse training options were carefully selected to equip participants with marketable skills capable of generating sustainable income and boosting small-scale businesses across the community.

Investigator news reports that application forms for the programme are available at the WAPA Office at a subsidised fee of ₦500. The office is located at the Former Secretariat, Otasumi Street, Iyana-Ejigbo Bus Stop, Lagos.

Aare TAT emphasised that the initiative reflects the administration’s continued commitment to youth empowerment, women development, and poverty reduction within Ejigbo LCDA.

It will be recalled that uder the leadership of Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, the council has consistently prioritised capacity-building programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and creating economic opportunities for residents.

Residents, particularly youths and women, have therefore been urged to take advantage of the training programme to acquire practical skills that can enhance financial independence and contribute to local economic growth.
