Traditional rulers and community leaders from Kupa, Kakanda, Oworo and Eggan communities in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State have commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the notable improvement in security across their areas.

The leaders gave the commendation during a meeting with the governor, where they acknowledged his administration’s deliberate efforts in tackling insecurity, particularly in the challenging terrains of Lokoja II Constituency.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, praised Governor Ododo for demonstrating a strong commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the council area.

He noted that the governor’s proactive security measures have restored confidence among residents.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, the Maiyaki of Kupa Land, His Royal Highness, Pharmacist Alhaji Dauda Kabir Isa, expressed appreciation to the governor for dislodging bandits and criminal elements from affected communities.

He stated that the improved security has enabled farmers to return to their farmlands, traders to move freely, and children to attend school without fear, describing peace as the most valuable achievement recorded under the current administration.
The royal father also appealed to the governor to consider the reconstruction of the Jamata–Budan–Abugi–Eggan road to enhance accessibility and accelerate development in the area.
He further commended the administration for ongoing infrastructure development across the state.

Also speaking, the Director General of the Kogi State Bureau of Public Procurement, Barrister Sunday Ehimoni, noted that Governor Ododo’s administration has positively impacted the welfare of the Oworo people, particularly in the areas of healthcare, education and general well-being.
The Member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives highlighted projects facilitated to the constituency and pledged additional logistical support to further strengthen security.

He also commended the governor’s people-focused leadership style.
Similarly, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Aliyu Yusuf Umar, expressed gratitude to the governor for enhancing security and restoring public confidence in government’s capacity to protect lives and property.

In his response, Governor Ododo appreciated the royal fathers and community leaders for their cooperation with his administration’s security initiatives, stressing that community collaboration remains essential in sustaining peace.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and avoid actions capable of undermining security efforts, warning against shielding criminal elements.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s determination to confront criminality, emphasizing that his government would not negotiate with criminals.

Governor Ododo also commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for continued federal support toward strengthening security in Kogi State and fulfilling promises made to Nigerians.
He assured the communities that road infrastructure within the constituency remains a priority, noting that key roads, including those requested by the communities, would be addressed to boost economic activities, particularly in agrarian areas.
