Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has sworn in 14 key appointees into the Anambra State Executive Council and administration, marking the formal takeoff of what he described as “Team Solution 2.0,” aimed at deepening service delivery across the state.
The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Council Chambers, Light House, Awka, brought together seasoned professionals and technocrats who took their oaths of office and allegiance. Governor Soludo stressed that the appointments were not rewards for political loyalty but a call to selfless service and commitment to the people of Anambra State.
The newly inaugurated officials include Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake as Secretary to the State Government; Barr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Iwouno as Head of Service; Dr. Ben Nwankwo as Chief of Staff to the Governor; and Dr. Vincent Egbuna Okechi as Deputy Chief of Staff.
Others sworn in are Barr. Joachin Peters Anetoh as Principal Secretary to the Governor; Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; and Mr. Izuchukwu Okafor as Commissioner for Finance.
Also inaugurated were Mr. Ken Emekakayi as Special Adviser on Community Security; Prof. Ebuka Nwankwo as Special Adviser on Special Projects and Director, Project Evaluation and Monitoring; Ms. Chinwe Okoli as Special Adviser on Business Incubation and CEO, Solution Innovation District; Dr. Godwin Nnadozie as Special Adviser on Medical and Pharmaceuticals; Prof. Frank-Colins Okafor as State Chief of Protocol; Mr. Christian Aburime as Chief Press Secretary; and Ms. Ngozi Lucy Okoye as Deputy State Chief of Protocol.
Addressing the new appointees, Governor Soludo underscored the weight of responsibility placed on their shoulders, noting that public office demands sacrifice, dedication, and unwavering focus on service delivery.
“I commiserate with you because you are the team called upon to pay to serve,” the Governor said. “There will be sacrifices and risks, but all I see is the work. I don’t see the dining table, but the farm and the field. That is the spirit required of everyone called to serve.”
Governor Soludo further explained that all the appointees passed through a rigorous selection process to ensure alignment with the administration’s vision of value-driven governance.
He urged them to allow the Oaths of Office and Allegiance guide their actions and decisions in office.
Highlighting the importance of teamwork, the Governor stressed that personal ambitions must be subordinated to collective progress, emphasizing that effective collaboration remains key to achieving meaningful results.
“It is a team, and we have only one ball to score,” Soludo noted, calling for unity, coordination, and shared commitment to delivering impactful governance.
The Governor also expressed appreciation to the Anambra State House of Assembly for the prompt screening and confirmation of the commissioners, reiterating his administration’s resolve to accelerate development and meet the expectations of the people of Anambra State.
