The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), brought together a broad spectrum of community stakeholders at the 7th and concluding edition of his Interfaith Breaking of Fast (Iftar), reinforcing his administration’s commitment to unity and inclusive governance.
The event held on Tuesday 17, March 2026 at the Marriage registry hall attracted Iyalojas and market representatives from across Ikeja, leaders of the Joint Association of Artisans, and members of the media drawn from over 25 organizations.
Addressing the gathering, Comrade AKOD highlighted unity, love, and peaceful coexistence as vital ingredients for societal growth and sustainable development.
He called on citizens to embrace collective responsibility in building a stronger nation, regardless of religious or ethnic backgrounds.
The Chairman went further to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for championing local government financial autonomy, noting that Lagos State councils and LCDAs have greatly benefited from the initiative.
According to him, the policy has strengthened grassroots governance and improved service delivery.
He further urged continued prayers for Nigeria, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and President Tinubu.

Pastor Israel of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ikeja chapter, led Christian prayers, while Ustaz Akeem Olaleye offered Islamic supplications for the country, its leaders, and the Ikeja community.
In their various goodwill messages, representatives of the Iyalojas, artisans, and the media praised Comrade AKOD’s leadership style, describing it as inclusive, responsive, and people-focused.
They acknowledged his efforts in fostering unity across diverse groups. Mr. Musbau of Gazelle News also commended the administration’s media team for its professionalism and effective communication.
Investigator news gathered that dignitaries that attended the event were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Ogunseye Rasheed Adisa; as well as party leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Ikeja Federal Constituency.
