The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government,Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has led a massive environmental sanitation exercise on Awolowo Way, emphasizing environmental sustainability and public health.
The exercise involved desilting drainages, clearing debris, and sensitizing residents.
Investigator news reports that AKOD actively participated in the sanitation activities, joined by his team, led by Sanitarian (Mrs.) Olatunde Omotayo, and NYSC members in the clean-up effort, showcasing his hands-on leadership.

The Chairman reiterated that a clean and healthy environment is fundamental to public health, economic productivity, and sustainable development.
He emphasized that thriving businesses and vibrant communities can only exist in a hygienic and orderly environment.
According to him, environmental responsibility is a collective duty that requires the active participation of all residents.
Comrade AKOD made it unequivocally clear that environmental nuisance will not be tolerated within Ikeja Local Government.
He said “Environmental Health Officers have been given strict directives to enforce sanitation laws and address any environmental violations promptly.”
“Residents, market operators, and corporate organizations are therefore urged to maintain cleanliness around their premises at all times.”
