Stakeholders of the Lagos West Senatorial District APC met at Orile-Agege LCDA Secretariat, urging increased participation in the party’s e-registration exercise.
Investigator news reports that the meeting addressed NIN-related delays and strategized on mobilizing groups like NURTW to boost registration numbers.
It was however assured that these issues would be resolved within one week through coordinated efforts as leaders were directed to intensify efforts, with a three-day emergency push to improve numbers.
One of the strategies discussed was the mobilization of organized groups, particularly the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Stakeholders emphasized that no fewer than 1,000 registered members should be mobilized from the union to boost registration figures.
Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi specifically proposed that NURTW leaders be engaged for at least one day, during which council workers would be deployed to register members on the spot.
It was unanimously implored that all local governments must work tirelessly to ensure the success of the ongoing e-registration exercise.
Stakeholders went further to stressed that Lagos State must remain steadfast in its support, recognizing the role of party leadership in sustaining the APC’s strength, relevance, and hold on power both within the state and nationally.
Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi further appealed to leaders to carry along past leaders and former office holders, emphasizing inclusiveness and unity as key drivers of success
In his address, Rt. Hon. Mudasiru Obasa appreciated the leaders and local government chairmen present.
He urged the chairmen to build continuous relationships with people in their communities, engage constituents regularly, and avoid limiting outreach to election periods alone.
To fast-track progress, a three-day emergency directive was declared to aggressively increase APC e-registration numbers across Lagos West.
Earlier,the Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Prince Adeyemi Agoro, advised his colleagues to adopt innovative approaches, sharing his experience with the use of custom software and hired personnel to efficiently manage and improve registration outcomes.
Similarly, Hon. Oriade from Badagry highlighted challenges related to service unavailability in some areas and explained how she had devised alternative methods to stimulate participation and encourage residents to complete their registration.
The meeting ended with a collective resolve by stakeholders to intensify mobilization, enforce accountability, and ensure the successful completion of the APC e-registration exercise across Lagos West Senatorial District.
