A High Court in Sabo, Yaba, has dismissed an injunction against the installation of Oba Issa Abiodun Olakunle Faronbi-Shekoni as the new Osolo of Isolo.
The court ruled that the arguments presented by the claimant, Prince Jimmy Adetokunbo Goloba, were not strong enough to grant the injunction.
Investigator news reports that Prince Goloba had sought an injunction against Oba Shekoni’s installation, a restraining order against him parading himself as the new Osolo, and his removal from the throne.
However, Oba Shekoni’s defense argued that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case.

Justice Ezekiel Oluwole Ashade dismissed the claim, stating that the arguments presented by the claimant’s counsel, Prof Fagbohun (SAN), were not convincing enough to grant an injunction.
The judge expressed willingness to grant an accelerated hearing of the suit and adjourned the matter to November 28, 2025, and December 5, 2025, for the commencement of the substantive suit.
Investigator news gathered that Oba Shekoni was installed as the new Osolo of Isolo by the commissioner for local government, chieftaincy affairs and rural development,on 28 March,2025 after the demise of the former monarch, Oba Kabir Adelaja Agbabiaka who joined his ancestors in 2024.
