Ikeja Chairman,AKOD Backs Advocacy Against Maternal Deaths.

Ikeja Local Government Chairman Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD) has reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote public health, particularly those aimed at reducing maternal deaths resulting from unsafe abortion practices.

AKOD stated this while attending an advocacy film screening titled “Tó Bá Sé Wò (If It Were You)” at the Council Secretariat, Ikeja.


The event, organized by WARDC and Pamoja,is aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of unsafe abortions and promote safe healthcare practices.

In his welcome address, Comrade AKOD warmly received the guests, commending the organizers for using creative advocacy to address such a sensitive yet crucial health issue.

The Chairman emphasized that every woman deserves access to safe healthcare, accurate information, and a supportive environment that preserves her dignity and right to life.

Investigator news reports that Comrade AKOD was accompanied by top management staff, including Dr. (Mrs.) Razak and Dr. (Mrs.) Tawak, as well as councillors and dignitaries.
