Ejigbo LCDA Unveils 2026 Budget.

The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA),Aare Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo on Wednesday 22, October 2025vq! presented the proposed 2026 budget to stakeholders,at the Council Secretariat,outlining a comprehensive plan to drive sustainable development and address the community’s critical needs.

The budget which is anchored on the “SHIELD AGENDA,” focuses on security, health, infrastructure renewal, education and youth development, local economy and digital economy and civic participation and is designed to build upon the priorities outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda, inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2023.

According to the Chairman in his address,the Renewed Hope Agenda aims to address long-standing challenges in Nigeria, including unemployment, poverty, infrastructure deficit, and insecurity.

He noted that the SHIELD AGENDA is expected to align with these national objectives, ensuring that Ejigbo LCDA’s development trajectory is consistent with the vision of progress, prosperity, and sustainable growth, while emphasizing the importance of inclusive decision-making, highlighting the role of Community Development Associations (CDAs), market women, residents, Youths, Artisans and transport workers in shaping the Local Government’s budget.

“This gathering is not merely a ceremonial event; it represents a commitment to our community’s future,one that aligns seamlessly with the Renewed Hope.Agenda of his Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

“The National vision articulated within this agenda resonates deeply with our local framework _the “SHIELD AGENDA”, which is designed to meet the unique needs and aspirations of the good people of Ejigbo.”

“The Renewed Hope Agenda, inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2023,is far reaching national development strategy that seeks to address long standing challenges in Nigeria, including unemployment, poverty, infrastructure, deficit and insecurity.”

“In alignment with this overarching national framework,we in Ejigbo are committed to ensuring that our developmental trajectory is consistent with the vision of progress, prosperity and sustainable growth.”

“In the coming year,we aim to address both the immediate and long term needs of our community through the initiatives outlined in the proposed 2026 budget.In addition to the themes of the THEMES PLUS Agenda – which embodies our social contract with the people of Ejigbo.”he said

Investigator news reports that the budget proposes several strategic initiatives, including the rehabilitation of roads and construction of drainage systems to address perennial flooding challenges. It also aims to strengthen the primary health system, with a focus on maternal health and healthcare accessibility for all.

Other key initiatives include empowering the youth through skill acquisition programs and establishing entrepreneurship hubs. The budget also proposes the provision of educational materials and the creation of ICT centers within schools.

Environmental renewal initiatives, including waste management and the promotion of green spaces, are also part of the plan.

The Chairman went further to urge stakeholders to support the noble endeavor by fulfilling their civic responsibility, particularly in the payment of necessary rates and taxes.

He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his leadership and vision, which have strengthened democracy at the national level and entrenched democratic values at the grassroots.

“At this juncture,I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the father of this nation , Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu whose political vision and fiscal discipline continue to shape Nigeria’s path to success”

“His leadership has not only strengthened democracy at the national level but has also entrenched democratic values at the grassroots, particularly in our 20 Local government and 37 LCDA in Lagos State.”TAT acknowledge.

Pastor Olusegun Ajagunna,the Council Manager in welcome speech appealed to community leaders to cooperate with Council Chairman,so as to move Ejigbo LCDA forward

Ajagunna praised Taiwo’s efforts, saying, “He’s been doing great work and this would not be his last as Ejigbo LCDA would be a “Small London ” before the end of his tenure ”

He encouraged leaders to submit their community’s needs swiftly, ensuring alignment with the budget.

Speaking with newsmen,the Council Leader Hon.Sobande Gabriel emphasized the importance of this gathering, stating that it’s crucial to listen to the needs of the community and have an inclusive program as they prepare the budget

He highlighted that the council is committed to addressing the community’s needs, stating that with the assistance from the Councilors ,the Chairman has made a tremendous change in terms of road infrastructure, education and youth empowerment.

Sobande expressed gratitude for the Chairman for what he has put in place within his first 3 months in office, noting that within his first year in office, Ejigbo would have been a model city.

“I am so proud of the Executive Chairman and we the legislature,we are going to support him in making sure we promote good bye laws that can make sure that his agenda becomes a reality in 2026.”he said.

The Head of Budget Planning and Statistics of Ejigbo LCDA,Mrs Lambo Oluwabumi stated that the 2026 budget is going to be a renewed hope,as there would be an improvement and continuity on what the last administration has done.

Mrs Lambo assured the people of Ejigbo LCDA that the 2026 budget would accommodate more infrastructure,job creation for the youths, transformation in our education and improved local economy.

“The people of Ejigbo LCDA should expect infrastructural renewal,the Chairman has its own agenda,the SHIELD AGENDA which would touched every factors and yearnings of Ejigbo people.

“Presently he has ensured that Ejigbo LCDA is clean and green through his initiative and he is going to improve on his education and vocational skills for youths, improve the local and digital economy,create industries and Ejigbo would be connected to the world which would attract more people as he has already started it.”Lambo assured.

Aare TAT speaking with newsmen after the program urge the people to pray and support the administration of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has ensured that the renewed hope of the people is not dashed away.

“Just in tandem with the renewed hope aspiration and agenda of Mr President,it is the era of the renewed hope for the people of Ejigbo LCDA. Their hope has been renewed as we have a marching order to make sure that we create an enabling environment for them to thrive especially our youths,to construct new roads and empower the people, letting them know that it was worth it to have remove the fuel subsidy in the first instance”

“The fuel subsidy that would have been used to subsidy feul for neighbouring countries is now coming directly to them through improve road network, security architecture, assess to quality education and healthcare facilities and empowerment,all these and many more speaks volume for us to support the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and see to it that he is re elected come 2027”

TAT,”IDERA OlUWA DE”as he is fondly called by the people opined that before the next two of his administration,the people of Ejigbo would have seen more road network, improve infrastructure, commerce and industry, empowerment of the people.” We would have been able to lead the people well and better off than how he met them”

Investigator news gathered that stakeholders at the event presented and made their contributions towards the 2026 budget, among those who made their submission include the CDC,NURTW, Ejigbo Farmers Association, Ejigbo Artisans, Cooperate bodies,NYCN, Christian Association of Nigeria, Nigeria Union of Teachers (Ejigbo Chapter),PWDs and the Muslim Community.

The CDC Chairman, Professor Jelili Atiku and his Secretary-General, Barrister Abimbola Olawale commended the Chairman for a doing a great job since he assumption into office especially the transformation around Ejigbo primary school.

Professor Atiku noted that Taiwo’s administration would be made responsive to the community’s needs, with requests made by CDAs being incorporated into the budget, while highlighting some of the notable achievements, including the provision of transformers, construction of good roads, among others.

He said,”before the Chairman came on board,he visited all the CDAs in Ejigbo LCDA and asked for the needs of every CDA, which shows that he wants to run an inclusive government and today we are all witness to the level of transformation we have received and more to received before the end of this tenure ”

“And we want to assure you that 120 CDAs in Ejigbo would really support towards you so as to ensure that provide the dividends of democracy to the people of Ejigbo LCDA ”

Comrade Alimi Rahmon, Deputy Coordinator, National Youth Council Of Nigeria (NYCN)in his submission appeal to the Executive Chairman to help in providing an office space for the youth council,imprest and empowerment for the youths and mobility so that they can have a smooth running activities when the need arise.

Others who made their submission include the Christian Association of Nigeria, farmers association, People living with disabilities,orphanage home in Ejigbo who made a request that the Chairman should assist the orphans in terms of education, payment of rent and other social amenities.

The non-indigene community in Ejigbo LCDA comprising individuals from the South South, South East, and Northern regions,lauded Chairman Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo for his inclusive leadership style.

Representatives of the non-indigene community praised Taiwo’s impartial approach, stating that he has never been sentimental or tribalistic in his decision-making. “He carries us along in every area of opportunities,” they noted.

The group also commended Aare Taiwo’s achievements in infrastructure development and other sectors, acknowledging the positive impact of his administration on the community within a short of time.

The meeting ended with lively discussions and suggestions as stakeholders shared priorities for the budget, ranging from infrastructure to social services.

This inclusive approach was seen as a step towards transparent governance and community-driven development in Ejigbo LCDA.

The forum had in attendance the Vice Chairman,Hon. Mrs. Abimbola Nicholas-Ike; Leader of The House, Hon.Gabriel Sobande and all the Councillors, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Maroof Adisa Adekunle Ojoola, LGA Chairman, Alhaji Hon. Fatai Kasumu.

Others are Chief Bayo Okunlola, Major Adebesin Rtd.; CDC Chairman, Professor Jelili Atiku; CDC Secretary-General, Barrister Abimbola Olawale; CAN Chairman , Reverend Stephen Oyinlola, management; Grand Chief Imam, Dr. Mikail Sanni, Imam of Jakande, Oke Afa Estate, Imam Fatai Shobajo and the entire management team led by the Council Manager, Pastor Olusegun Ajagunna, teeming representatives of various CDAs, Representatives of PWDs, NURTW Executives,  Ejigbo Artisans, Ejigbo Farmers Association, Coperate  Bodies, Youth groups, and a host of others.

Highlight of the event was the endorsement by the LGA APC Party Chairman,his ward Executives and LGA Exco, applauding and endorsing the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA,Aare Tahoeed Adebayo Taiwo.
