Onigbongbo LCDA Chairman, Community Leaders Pay Condolence Visits to Hon. Seyi Jakande Over Loss of Councillor Shotayo

A delegation led by House Leader Francis Nkwo, representing Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, paid a condolence visit to Hon. Seyi Jakande, Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA,on Thursday 21, August 2025,following the passing of Councillor Zainab Shotayo, representing Ward C3
The delegation comprising the Deputy Leader Khadijat Dosumu, Majority Leader David Orukpe, Chief Whip Folu Omotesho, Deputy Majority Leader Lekan Ige, and Deputy Chief Whip Yusuf Alabi, expressed their profound sadness at the loss and offered support to Jakande and the grieving family.

In the same vein, the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA chapter of the National Council of Women’s Societies, led by Rev. Mother Oluwafunmilayo Abdul, also paid a condolence visit, reflecting on Councillor Shotayo’s remarkable contributions.

Unity was further emphasized by the presence of the Joint 6 Ward Chairme led by Engr. Yusuf Abdul Qodri, conveyed their condolences and demonstrated unwavering support for Jakande and the grieving family
Other dignitaries in their company, including Mr. Wale Abogunloko (Giwa Chairman), Mrs. Mustapha Musiliu (Ori-Odi Chairman), Mr. Olasunbo Aleshe (Ayetoro Chairman), Mr. Obisesan Olumide (Matanmi Chairman), and Mr. Moronkeji Adebayo (Majolate Secretary),who joined in solidarity, highlighting the collective grief and communal bond shared by both leadership and community members.
Responding,Hon. Jakande described Councillor Shotayo as an exemplary leader whose dedication and resilience inspired many.
He assured the bereaved family of the Council’s full support and offered prayers for her peaceful repose.
“Her life of service will never be forgotten,” he stated, offering prayers for her peaceful repose”.he said
Investigator news reports that condolence register has been established at the entrance of the Bola Tinubu Legacy Building to honour her legacy as the community is still reeling from the shocking loss of Hon. Shotayo, who passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025.
