The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has presented cheques totaling N37,663,936 to 35 families of deceased police officers on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The payment is part of the IGP Family Welfare Scheme and Group Life Assurance, aimed at supporting the families of officers who died in active service.

The Commissioner of Police Delta State while presenting the cheques expressed appreciation for the sacrifices made by the deceased officers and emphasized the IGP’s commitment to the welfare of their families.
He stated that the payment would provide a significant boost to the beneficiaries.
Abaniwonda also appreciated the gesture by the IGP, as the cheques will in no small way act as a boost to the families and also a way of letting them know that, though their loved ones are no more, the Force did not forget their sacrifices.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss Chidinma Paul, thanked the IGP for his generosity, promising to utilize the funds judiciously.
