Alhaji Muhammad Abacha, the son of former military leader Sani Abacha, has been named as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate in Kano State for the 2023 general election.
According to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), Abacha received 736 votes in the primary election in Kano state on Wednesday, defeating his nearest challenger, Jafar Sani-Bello, who received 710 votes.
The Returning Officer, Hajiya Amina Garba, announced the results, declaring Abacha the winner of the primaries with 736 votes.
The primaries were legally conducted with validly elected delegates, according to Alhaji Mohammed Jamu, Chairman of the Electoral Committee. They were supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, police, and State Security Service operatives.
